Challenge Camerounais  Minimize

Opening match Duisburg vs Bremen (Challenge 2006 - Bremen)

Challenge Camerounais, a tournament that gains popularity with each passing year, pulling over 5000 Cameroonians from within and out of Germany in elected towns. The competition has its origin in Duisburg. Then, it was all about football. In the course of time, other sport activities and events have been incorporated with the effect that Cameoonians of all walks of life have a moment in a year to come together, feast and compete against each other.

The greatest highlight is still football. Present and former Cameroon national team players try as much as possible to be present at the events. A lot of African and African oriented businesses are becoming more and more interested in sponsoring the events and the various clubs that take part. A lot of activities engage Cameroonians (amongst them and most important, football). It is the dream of every Cameroonian to be a part of the events.

This year's challenge took place in Cologne with the motto „Back to the roots“ and Duisburg United was selected alongside Düsseldorf, Aachen, Köln and Dortmund from the province of Nordrhein Westfalen. Last year, in Munich, Duisburg United had the privilege to represent the town of Duisburg once more and our goal was to win as many games as possible and possibly bring home the title to Duisburg. We ended up winning two games and had a tie in one, becoming first in our pool but were stopped at the quarter finals by Cologne, which went on to win the trophy.

The management expresses its heartfelt thanks to all fans and players for their support and hard work.
